Garfield Head Coach Reacts to Friday Forfeit

Seattle Times reporter Mason Kelly interviewed Garfield High first-year head coach Kelvin Goliday earlier this week about the situation surrounding his team's Friday night forfeit to Lake Washington in the 3rd quarter.

According to Kelly's report, Goliday says there was more to the situation than met the eye.  Garfield trailed 14-0 nothing when Goliday called timeout trying to discuss what he says was a safety issue with officials.  When officials wouldn't talk with him, he kept his team on the sidelines, and that's when he received three penalties, including two unsportsmanlike-conduct penalties that resulted in his ejection.

Goliday will now have to sit-out this weekend's game, which is the penalty for being rejected.
